TEST RESULTS (ANAYA)

Trigona bees (Tetragonula biroi sp.) keep honey in storage pots built of cerumen - which is a made of wax secreted from the glands on the abdomen of workers, combined with propolis which is derived from resins collected from plants.

Therefore the honey is influenced by the infiltration of the propolis content. Our products have also undergone independent studies to test their antibacterial effectiveness. Both products kill on average 83%of bacterial.

On the other hand, Apinae honeybees keep the collected honey in hexagon combs, which are built purely of wax alone. Propolis is only used to seal the extra space between the nest and cavity; as a result the honey of Apinae honeybees is not affected by propolis during storage.

TEST RESULTS (TRIGONA HONEY)

In a 2007 research study conducted by Japanese scientist lead by the Kanazawa University Graduate School of Medical Science, using the same methodology for measuring UMF – found that the anti-bacterial activity of stingless honeybees is powerful even when compared to manuka honey.

The tables contain extracts from the scientific papers to show how effective the antimicrobial activity level of trigona honey (specifically from the trigona (Tetragonula biroi sp.) bee that we harvest from) is against various strains of bacterial strains (the larger the number the more potent the antimicrobial activity).

When comparing antibacterial activity of Anaya Trigona honey to manuka, we see that Anaya Trigona honey's potency (Active 25+) is equivalent to almost a Manuka honey UMF 25+ (the larger the number the more potent the antibacterial activity).

Blood Sugar Regulation

The trehalulose found in stingless bee honey has been shown to improve glucose tolerance, which may benefit persons with metabolic syndrome or pre-diabetes. A study discovered that ingesting trehalulose on a daily basis might help lower postprandial blood glucose levels, potentially decreasing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and its associated cardiovascular consequences.

Autophagy Activation

Trehalulose may trigger autophagy, a cellular mechanism that eliminates damaged cells, potentially leading to anti-aging benefits and better cellular health. This mechanism is important for preserving cellular integrity and function, especially in neurodegenerative disorders.

Gut Health
