About Anaya

What is Anaya?

Anaya is a Singapore wellness and care brand, running since 2013 under GTCL. We sell two ranges that look unrelated but aren't: Trigona stingless bee honey and propolis for immunity, and anti-mould leather care for humid climates. The thread connecting them is one belief. Prevent the damage, skip the repair.

Is Anaya part of a larger company?

Yes. Anaya is one of the wellness brands under The GTCL Wellness Group, founded in 2013. If you're looking for clean beauty skincare rather than immunity or leather care, our sister brand Byra is part of the same group.

Where are Anaya's products made?

We manufacture at source wherever possible, since shipping raw ingredients around the world before turning them into a finished product adds carbon miles we'd rather avoid. Beyond that, every product we sell, wherever it's made, is produced under our own strict quality requirements. That standard doesn't change by country.

Are Anaya's products non-toxic?

Yes, across both ranges. That's a deliberate line we hold to, since the honey goes in you or your child, and the anti-mould diffuser goes in your wardrobe next to your clothes.

Immunity Care

What is Trigona honey, and how is it different from regular honey?

Trigona honey comes from stingless bees (Tetragonula biroi), not the European honeybees behind most honey on shelves. Trigona bees store honey in propolis-lined pots, so the honey carries propolis compounds that regular honeybee honey doesn't. It's also far rarer: a Trigona hive produces around 500g a year, against roughly 30kg from a European honeybee hive.

Why does Trigona honey taste sour, not sweet?

The sourness comes from organic acids, enzymatic activity, and the propolis-lined cerumen pots the honey is stored in. It's a feature of genuine Trigona honey, not a flaw.

What does "Active 25+" mean on the honey label?

It's our potency rating for antibacterial activity, using the same UMF-style methodology used for Manuka honey ratings. Independent studies found our Trigona honey's antibacterial activity at Active 25+ comparable to a Manuka honey rated UMF 25+.

How does Trigona honey compare to Manuka honey?

Not all Trigona honey is the same, and we can only speak for ours. Our honey is independently tested and rated Active 25+ for antibacterial activity, the same UMF-style scale used for Manuka. We test for this ourselves, so if another brand makes a similar claim, it's worth asking whether they can show the test behind it.

Sugar content is the other difference. Regular honeybee honey, and even Manuka, can run as high as 80% sugar. Ours tests under 20%, which makes it a better fit for anyone managing their sugar intake, including diabetics.

What is propolis, and what's it used for?

Propolis is a resin bees collect from plants to seal and protect the hive. Most people take it orally for general wellness support. We also make an olive oil-infused propolis extract for topical use, alongside our alcohol-extracted version; as far as we know, no other brand offers an olive oil-based propolis made for topical application. Customers regularly tell us how it's worked for them on eczema and inflamed skin.

How much honey should I take, and how often?

For general immune support, one tablespoon every other day is a good baseline, though there's no strict limit to how much you can have. If you're recovering from something, twice a day is what we recommend. The same dosing and frequency applies for children, and again, there's no hard ceiling.

How should I store the honey and propolis products?

Keep honey in its original, tightly sealed container, away from direct light. You can store it in the fridge if you prefer; unlike regular honey, ours won't harden, so it stays easy to pour straight from the bottle. Propolis extract is best kept in the fridge to preserve it.

Is Trigona honey safe for children?

Yes, for anyone above 1 year old.

Can I use propolis if I have allergies?

People with a sensitivity to bee products, or specifically to Peru balsam, should check with a doctor before using propolis.

Anti-Mould Leather Care

Why does leather mould in Singapore?

Singapore's humidity sits well above the level mould needs to grow, and leather is an organic material that holds moisture. Most people find the mould after it's already there, which is exactly what the leather care industry is built around. Restoration is more profitable than prevention, so the incentive to tell you the real fix, airflow, conditioning and a maintenance habit, isn't strong.

Do silica gel packets actually stop mould?

Mostly no, in an open wardrobe. Silica packets saturate within days and are rarely replaced. They're built to protect a sealed shipping box, not a cupboard sitting at 80% humidity for months. Our Anti-Mould Patches and AirGuard+ Diffuser are built for that ongoing exposure instead of a single burst, so they keep working long after a silica packet would have already given up.

What's the difference between the Anti-Mould Patches and the AirGuard+ No-Mould Diffuser?

The Anti-Mould Patches are for single items stored in a container, box, or dust bag. The AirGuard+ Diffuser is for small spaces such as a wardrobe, shoe cabinet, or toilet. Larger spaces, like a bedroom or a walk-in wardrobe, need two or more diffusers to cover the space properly. The diffuser also releases a gentle scent that's phthalate free. You can use the patches and the diffuser together for extra protection.

How do I remove mould that's already on my leather bag?

It depends on how much mould you're dealing with. Clean once with the No-Mould Leather Cleaner, then let it air-dry for a few hours before cleaning again. Repeat if needed. Once the surface is clean and fully dry, follow with the Leather Care conditioner. Let the cleaner dry completely first; don't layer the two while the leather is still damp.

Can I use Anaya leather care on suede, nubuck, or exotic leather?

Generally, we don't recommend our leather care range for suede or nubuck. The No-Mould Leather Cleaner is the exception; it's fine on exotic leather and darker suede colours. For these leather types, always spray a small amount onto a microfibre cloth first, rather than directly onto the leather, before applying.

How often should I condition my leather?

It depends on how often you use the piece. Something you use regularly is worth conditioning every two weeks. Something you're storing needs it about once a quarter.

Orders, Shipping & Payment

How much does shipping cost, and how long does it take within Singapore?

Standard delivery within Singapore is S$5 and takes 2 to 5 working days. Express delivery is S$14.90 and arrives within 6 to 8 hours. Shipping is free on orders over S$50 nett at the standard delivery speed. Orders are processed within 1 to 3 working days before they ship, and this can take a little longer during storewide sales or campaign periods.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, to most countries worldwide. At checkout, you can choose between international courier (FedEx), which costs more but is faster with accurate tracking, or registered mail (Singapore Post), which is more affordable but slower. Shipping cost and estimated delivery time are shown at checkout once you've entered your destination. International orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes set by your local authority, so it's worth checking with them directly.

How do I track my order?

You'll get a notification email once your order is packed, and a tracking link once it's picked up by the courier.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.

Returns & Refunds

What is the return policy?

Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right. Our return window is 30 days from purchase. To be eligible, the item needs to be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition you received it. A receipt or proof of purchase is required. Perishable items such as honey, along with gift cards and certain health and personal care items, aren't eligible for return.

How do refunds work?

Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll email you to confirm whether it's approved. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method automatically. Only regular-priced items are eligible; sale items can't be refunded.

What if my order arrives damaged or defective?

We only replace items that are defective or damaged. Email us at hello@gtclife.com and we'll arrange the exchange.

Who pays for return shipping?

You're responsible for the cost of shipping a return back to us, and that cost is deducted from your refund where applicable. For anything over S$75, we'd recommend a trackable shipping service, since we can't guarantee a returned item will reach us otherwise.

Where do I send a return?
